  1. FOR SHORTWAVE NAVIGATOR USERS ONLY:

  3. Frequency Valet is free to  Shortwave Navigator users.  New purchasers of
  4. Shortwave Navigator will receive the latest version of FreqValet.   Also,
  5. updates to SW Navigator will include the latest FreqValet.

  7. Registers users of Shortwave Navigator who would like to receive a personalized
  8. version of FreqValet should request one from DX Computing.  If you are using
  9. computer control, please specify the receiver in use so that the proper control
  10. module can be provided.  Please include $7.50 for postage/handling.  Or, if you
  11. prefer, send $15 for both an update to Shortwave Navigator and get Frequency
  12. Valet free.

  14. If you are receiving a new copy of Shortwave Navigator, first install that
  15. program.

  17. When you open FreqValet, follow the on-screen dialog which will present the
  18. help field when the program is first opened.  After reading the help info,
  19. click in the field to close it.  You will be given the option to print the help
  20. info at that time.  Continue to follow the on-screen dialogs to open the
  21. "FreqsInUse.sample" file.  This will give demonstrate how the program imports
  22. and updates files.

  24. Then, from the Import menu, select "SW Navigator" to create the "FreqsInUse"
  25. database.  After that file has been created, create the "DX" database by
  26. selecting "SW Nav DX" from the Import menu.  After these files have been
  27. created, click on the "Update" button to import the "FreqsInUse" file to the
  28. "Broadcasts" card.  Advance to the second card (DX Programs), and click on the
  29. "Update" button to import the "DX" file to the "DX Programs" card.  Advance to
  30. the third card and click on the "Update" button.  Select "Ship to Shore" from
  31. the "Ute" folder to install this database to the "Ship to Shore" card. 
  32. Finally, advance to the "Utilities" card, click on the "Update" button and
  33. select "Aero" from the "Ute" folder.

  35. You can also get on-screen help.  Click on the Help (?) button and select
  36. "Help" from the dialog box.  Moving the cursor over the fields and buttons of
  37. the FreqValet card will provide help about the object in the message box. 
  38. Click on the Help (?) button again to stop the help function.
